Our Immigrant Resilience Fellowship Scholarship is a collaboration between the DREAM Center and the SOAR Center. It is designed for students who are interested in being part of a learning community that is centered around undocumented student experiences at UCI. Students receive a $3,000 scholarship for the academic year.

We are committed to the academic and financial well-being of undocumented students. Recipients of the award will participate in a student retention program offered by SOAR, to strengthen academic wellness and demonstrate a higher GPA at the end of the year.

Student Learning Outcomes:

• Improve academic wellness and overall engagement
• Develop self-advocacy skills in academic environments
• Foster community engagement and leadership skills

Program Requirements – (Quarterly Expectations):

• • Enroll in a LARC tutorial session  OR 1 writing center session
    • Attend 1 Professor/TA office hours
  • Meet with your mentor once a quarter to discuss Individual Plan of Action (IPA)
  • Must meet with your Academic Counselor at least once per academic year
  • Work as a group to lead one skill-building / outreach event in the spring quarter

Our DREAM Enrichment Scholarship supports travel costs for any student who was accepted into a study abroad program, domestic educational exchange program, UCDC, UC Center Sacramento, participation in an academic conference, and/or other education enrichment opportunities affiliated with UCI.

Requirements:

• Complete the DES application demonstrating need and the connection between proposed extra/co-curricular activities and students’ academic progress or professional development
• Continuing undergraduate or graduate student
• CA Dream Eligible students*
• Complete a CA Dream application for the current academic year
• Minimum 2.5 G.P.A. 
• Acceptance into a study abroad program, domestic educational exchange program, UCDC, UC Center Sacramento, participation in an academic conference, and/or other education enrichment opportunities affiliated with UCI.

Students may request up to $3,000 through this scholarship.

We understand that emergencies happen and things may be out of our control. We offer an Emergency Grant to support students experiencing financial crises during these trying times.

This emergency grant is up to $3,000 for undocumented students to support their academic and professional growth and, most importantly, personal and mental wellness.

Eligibility:

• Be a full-time student at the UCI, when requesting and receiving the award
• Demonstrate a financial need that impacts your academic, personal, and physical wellness. (Please note this fund does not cover legal fees. The DREAM Center coordinates a separate fund for legal fees. Please meet with the UCI Immigrant Legal Services attorney to make the legal filing fee request.)
• Eligible to receive financial aid and have completed a CA Dream Application for the 2022-23 academic year
• 2.0 GPA (applicants who do not meet this GPA requirement are still encouraged to apply and to complete the optional question below regarding your grades to help us understand the circumstances of your academic performance)

Our DREAM Project Fellowship is a year-long fellowship geared for undocumented students to prepare them to acquire professional development and personal growth.

Eligibility:

• Must be non-U.S. citizen & AB 540 eligible; NO work authorization required
• UCI enrolled undergraduate and graduate students (including incoming students)
• Must be a full-time student enrolled in min. 12 units during the fellowship year
